Overview of the project

Drifter executed the project management and field construction supervision for Southern Pacific’s McKay commercial SAGD facility beginning with front end engineering in 2009 through to first steam in Q3 2012. The Drifter team was involved in scoping assistance and evaluations, supporting infrastructure, civil earthworks, engineering, shop inspection coordination, field construction management, cost and schedule management, commissioning, and post-startup support. The result was a 12,000bopd central processing facility, two well pads, and all supporting infrastructure, including 17MW of on-site power generation, constructed on time and on budget.
